MHS and Moms-to-Be: MCH MOMS Helpline

Date: 07/01/19

At MHS, we care about our members who are moms and moms-to-be.

That’s why we offer them special services and point them to resources. One of those resources is the MCH MOMS Helpline.

This line is part of the Indiana State Department of Health Maternal and Child Health Division. It helps give pregnant women better access to early and regular care before they give birth. It also connects them with a network of health care services. The goal of those things is to reduce the state’s infant mortality rate.

Specialists who work for the helpline offer information and referral assistance on a variety of topics:

  • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program)
  • Infant Health Programs (Safe Sleep; Baby and Me Tobacco Free)
  • Local Primary Care Providers
  • Obstetricians and Gynecologists (OB/GYN)
  • Pediatricians and Dentists

Women also can get help from certified navigators to apply for benefits:

  • Hoosier Healthwise
  • Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP)
  • Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP)
  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

Moms can reach the helpline at 1-844-MCH-MOMS.
