COVID-19 Vaccine Available for Children Under 5
Date: 12/02/22
Anyone age six months and older may now get the safe, effective, and free COVID-19 vaccine. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently endorsed the Moderna and Pfizer shot for kids ages six months through five years.
The CDC recommends all kids, even those who have had COVID-19 before, get the vaccine. It’s the best way to avoid your child getting sick with COVID-19 in the future. To do so, you can either call your provider to make an appointment. Or you can visit ourshot.in.gov to see a map of vaccine sites that give the shot for this new age group.
Using the Indiana Department of Health’s Site Map:
Sites that offer vaccines to a pediatric age group are marked with a pin on the site map, along with other details. Zoom out on the map to expand your search area. If you don’t see the vaccination site you’re looking for, it’s possible that all appointments are full.
In the Indiana Department of Health’s (IDOH’s) registration system, when you enter a ZIP code to search for a vaccination site, you will find several locations near you. Scroll to see the site you selected on the map. The site’s information will include which vaccine is likely available at the site. You can click “Find Next Available Appointment” to get to the soonest date and time.
If you do not have access to a computer or need assistance, call 211 (866-211-9966).
