Does your child take medicine for ADHD? Your child should take ADHD medicine just like the doctor says. Also, keep follow-up visits with your child’s doctor. The  doctor will want to check how the medicine is working for your child. 

If your child was prescribed a new ADHD medication, then he or she needs a  follow-up visit within 30 days of the first dose. Talk to your doctor to make sure  your child gets a follow-up visit.
