MHS and the Quitline Want You to Quit Smoking: Get Support to Quit Smoking
Date: 07/29/19
You don’t have to quit smoking alone.
Tell people you are quitting. Support from others can make a big difference!
Ask for help by:
- Seeing if a friend can call you each day to see how you’re doing
- Using telephone counseling to keep you on track
- Telling smoking buddies you can walk together instead of smoking together
- Making sure people know you want to stick with it
As an MHS member, you qualify for help quitting by using Nicotine gum, lozenges and patches. MHS pays for these things as part of your health coverage. Talk with your doctor about getting these aids.
The Indiana Tobacco Quitline is a free phone-based counseling service. It helps Indiana tobacco users quit. You can reach it at 1-800-QUIT-NOW (1-800-784-8669).
You can get money through My Health Pays Healthy Rewards if you enroll with the Quitline!
Hoosier Healthwise and Hoosier Care Connect members get $20 for enrolling. HIP members can earn even more rewards – up to $145 if they complete the program!
