Disability Pride Month

Date: 06/25/25

At MHS, we want all of our members to get the care they need. When we celebrate differences and offer health support to everyone, no matter their abilities, everyone can be their best self.

We have lots of different health plans to support our members. No matter your unique abilities, MHS is here for you!

Take a look at our benefits below—you can use them to get the care that’s right for you.

Transportation

If you struggle with driving or can’t find a ride, our services can help. MHS gives our members FREE unlimited transportation to:

  • Doctor visits
  • Dental visits
  • Vision visits
  • Pharmacy
  • WIC appointments
  • Medicaid enrollment visits
  • MHS special events

Go to our transportation page to learn more about how to request a ride. If you want information on gas mileage reimbursement or bus passes, contact MHS Member Services to learn more.

Behavioral Health

If you suffer with major depression, anxiety or Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), MHS can help. Our behavioral health team helps members manage their mental health needs by working together with doctors to make a personalized plan of care. As part of your health plan, you can receive:

  • Diagnostic services
  • Intensive outpatient programs
  • Second opinions
  • Addiction counseling and treatment
  • Crisis intervention

We want our members to feel their best, inside and out.

Chronic Illness

If you know you have a chronic illness, let us know. We want to know about any pre-existing health conditions right away so we know how to support you. By completing the Health Needs Screening (HNS) questionnaire, you can be matched with the right healthcare team to provide the best care for you. The survey is easy to do and can earn you a $30 My Health Pays® reward if you complete it within 30 days of becoming a member. You can use your My Health Pays® rewards to help pay for:

  • Utilities
  • Transportation
  • Telecommunications
  • Childcare services
  • Education
  • Rent
  • *Everyday items at Walmart

And more! If you have not completed it yet, now is a great time to do it.

*This card may not be used to buy alcohol, tobacco or firearms products.

Vision Care

If you have low vision or potential blindness, our vision care can assist you. MHS members can get one routine vision exam every two years, and free eyeglasses after your exam if your doctor recommends them. We can also recommend specialists in network if you need additional care to keep your vision crystal clear.

Through our variety of programs and outreach, we share our commitment to supporting the health and well-being of all our members—regardless of ability. Your health needs are unique, and we’re proud to offer inclusive services that help ensure no one is left behind.

From transportation and vision care to behavioral health support and education assistance, MHS is here for you. Let us help you access the care and resources you deserve—because everyone should feel their best, every day.
