MHS and Project Home Indy (PHI) Partnership
Date: 06/01/19
MHS and Project Home Indy (PHI) care about the health and well-being of you and your baby.
The first few months of having a newborn will be exciting and challenging. Your baby will go through many changes during their first year.
It’s important that you keep up with your baby’s well-child visits. Your baby’s doctor will want to check in on progress.
How often will you need to take your baby to a well-child visit?
Your doctor will let you know how often to bring your baby in for a checkup. You may visit your doctor every couple months for the first few months after birth. Your doctor will want to monitor your baby’s growth through 15 months as a newborn.
What can you expect at a well-child visit?
- Newborns will be given a series of shots over the first few months.
- Your doctor will check your baby’s weight, length, and head size.
- You may want to check in with the doctor about breastfeeding questions or concerns.
- Your doctor will let you know what your baby’s current developmental needs may be.
- You may want to ask questions.
MHS can help you make your baby’s well-child appointments. We can also help you schedule free rides to and from appointments. Please call 1-877-647-4848, ext. 20404.
