Provider Notice: Dental Second Cleanings Enhanced Benefit Program Ending

Managed Health Services (MHS) provides health coverage for members enrolled in Hoosier Healthwise, the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), and Hoosier Care Connect.

Effective October 1, 2026, MHS will discontinue coverage of the enhanced second dental cleaning benefit. Dental services will align with standard Medicaid coverage, including one cleaning per year for adults 21 and over, unless otherwise specified for applicable programs (e.g., HIP Plus).

This change follows an annual program review to ensure alignment with utilization and program value. Providers should continue to deliver covered services in accordance with Medicaid guidelines and verify member eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery.
