Date: 12/28/18

The Hoosier state now ranks eighth in the nation with the highest rates of obesity. It was ranked 15th last year. This is found in a health report by the Trust for America’s Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Indiana tied with South Carolina with an obesity rate of 30.8 percent.

Do you know if you are obese? You can use a body mass index (BMI) calculator to find out. It can show body fatness for most people, based on your height and weight.

You can check your BMI on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website: BMI Calculator.

It is a good idea to know your BMI for your health. Your BMI may show that you are at a dangerous weight for your height. Then, you can make changes in your lifestyle and take steps to live a healthier life.
