Date: 12/07/18
INDIANAPOLIS (12/7/18) – Managed Health Services (MHS), in collaboration with its parent company, Centene Corporation, has recognized Windrose Health Network (WHN) with a national award for clinical excellence.
Practitioners are selected each year for the Summit Award for Excellence in Care based on their exemplary performance in a number of quality measures. WHN is recognized for the outstanding care its team provides to Hoosiers enrolled in MHS’ statewide health plan.
“MHS is proud to recognize Windrose Health Network for the excellent service it provides to our members in Central Indiana,” MHS President and CEO Kevin O’Toole said. “Our goal at MHS is to provide the highest quality of care and services to our members, which would not be possible without outstanding providers. With the 2017 Summit Award for Excellence in Care, we thank WHN for its ongoing dedication to helping our most vulnerable Hoosiers live healthier lives.”
“Windrose Health Network is pleased to have partnered with MHS in the delivery of high-quality patient care to some of Indiana's most vulnerable citizens,” said WHN Chief Operating Officer Scott Rollett. “It is a true privilege to receive this award and I want to thank our many staff members and physicians who work hard every day to achieve excellent patient outcomes.”
WHN is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that operates largely as a multi-specialty health center with an emphasis on primary and preventative care. It has six health centers that serve medically underserved residents in a six-county service area in Central Indiana (Johnson, Shelby, Bartholomew, Brown, Morgan and southern Marion counties).
WHN currently has approximately 20,000 active patients and will provide more than 70,000 outpatient visits in 2018. WHN serves a diverse population, with 67 percent of its patients uninsured or in a Medicaid program, 44 percent of children under the age of 18, and 30 percent Burmese & Asian-Indian immigrants.
