Managed Health Services Invests in Food Banks to Improve Food Access for Hoosiers

INDIANAPOLIS - (April 21, 2026)—Managed Health Services (MHS), a managed care entity proudly serving Indiana for 30 years and a Centene (NYSE: CNC) company, is proud to announce a new investment of more than $300,000 in four food banks across the state to address food insecurity for Hoosiers.

Addressing food insecurity and nutrition is a key component of MHS’s mission to transform the health of the communities we serve, one person at a time.

“Hunger impacts all aspects of a person’s health, from a child’s development and growth to the immune system of the elderly, and the increase of mental health conditions in adults,” says Christina Hage, MHS Plan President and CEO. “By supporting the work of these critical community hubs for addressing food insecurity across our state to provide nutritious food in an accessible way, we believe we can build healthier communities for all to live and thrive.”

MHS’s investment will support food banks in several Indiana counties with Gleaners, Community Harvest, Foodbank of Northern Indiana and Foodbank of Northwest Indiana. These funds will support the operations of these food banks to provide fresh, perishable items for on-site and mobile food pantry efforts.

By supporting local food banks, many Hoosier families gain improved access not only to food but also to other resources offered within their communities. Dollars from the MHS investment will additionally go towards outreach programs from these organizations, including education on SNAP benefits and nutrition education.
