June is Men’s Health Month!

Studies show that men have a higher rate of gum disease (56.4% versus 38.4% in women). Gum disease in men may lead to conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. Prevention is best! Good oral habits not only keep your smile bright but also help support good overall health!

Here are some tips to keep you smiling.

  • Visit your dental provider regularly.
  • Brush two times a day for two minutes and floss once daily.
  • Quit tobacco products.
  • Limit alcohol use.
  • Snack smart! Choose more fruits and vegetables. They are rich in vitamins for tooth health.
  • Stay hydrated and avoid sugary drinks.
