Drumstick Dash

Date: 11/11/17

This holiday season, Ambetter from MHS is lending a helping hand to the homeless community through the Lil’ Gobbler’s Run — a free family event taking place after the Drumstick Dash.

Proceeds from the 15th annual Drumstick Dash on Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23) will help provide meals to homeless men, women and children throughout central Indiana. Last year, the event raised enough money to provide thousands of meals for the homeless served at Wheeler Mission Ministries — the host of the race.

One of the top three largest racing events in the state, the Drumstick Dash is a 4.5-mile run and walk through Broad Ripple Village. About 20,000 people from across the country participated last year, and the city is expecting a record crowd again this year.

After the race, children and families can take part in the Lil' Gobbler's Run, which will take place in the parking lot of Broad Ripple Station. Open to all kids 10 and younger, the event is a 40-yard dash in which participants will get to chase Dash, the race’s turkey mascot! Everyone will get a cool medal. And it’s all free!

The Lil’ Gobbler’s Run is sponsored by Ambetter from MHS, a qualified health plan issuer. Ambetter from MHS will have a booth at the Drumstick Dash Expo the day before the race — Wed., Nov. 22 — at Broad Ripple High School. Visit our website for more information about Ambetter.
