MHS Hosts Health Check Health Day Today at Wayne County Health Department

MHS is hosting a Health Check Health Day today, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wayne County Health Department located at 201 E. Main Street Richmond, IN.

For this special event, MHS is partnering with Wayne County Health Department and its pediatricians to offer well-child visits (check-ups) and age-appropriate children’s immunizations for MHS members with a scheduled appointment.

MHS Sponsors Latina Community Baby Shower with St. Joseph County Minority Health Coalition

MHS is partnering with St. Joseph County Minority Health Coalition for Prematurity Awareness Month and sponsoring its related events throughout November.

MHS will be the main sponsor for the organization’s Latina Community Baby Shower, which takes place Tuesday, Nov. 15, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Mary Crest Building, 2015 W. Western Avenue in South Bend. This baby shower will provide educational sessions, screenings, a healthy lunch, games and resources for pregnant mothers or those with children under the age of 5 in the Latino community. MHS will be present at this event with a booth, educational materials and giveaways for attendees.

MHS Presents Lil’ Gobbler’s Run as part of Wheeler Mission Ministries’ Annual Drumstick Dash

MHS will present the Lil’ Gobbler’s Run as part of the annual Drumstick Dash hosted by Wheeler Mission Ministries. The ninth annual Drumstick Dash kicks off Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, at 9 a.m. in Broad Ripple. A 4.5-mile run/walk through Broad Ripple Village, the Drumstick Dash is currently the third largest running event in the state, behind the Mini Marathon and the Race for the Cure.

MHS Sponsors Back-to-School Community and Health Fest at Martin Luther King Community Center

The Martin Luther King Community Center will host its 4th Annual Back-to-School Community and Health Fest, sponsored by MHS.

The event takes place Saturday, August 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Community Center, located at 40th and Illinois Streets in Indianapolis. It will feature health screenings, Hoosier Healthwise and Healthy Indiana Plan information and back-to-school supply giveaways, along with free food and music. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
