MHS Partners with Radio Disney to Teach Students about Healthy Living

MHS and Radio Disney are teaming up to “adopt a school.” They are teaching students about healthy living in a fun way!

It’s called “Rosie’s Rockin’ Recess.” MHS mascot RosieRoo joins the Radio Disney Road Crew. The event takes place May 9 at 1:40 p.m. It is at Grissom Elementary School in Gary.

There are games and contests to show kids that exercise can be fun! And Dr. Yancy from MHS will talk with students about staying active.

MHS is helping shine the light on great fathers! We are sponsoring the Heart of a Father award!

Each year, Fathers and Families Center honors great fathers. These fathers show involvement and consistency. They are aware and nurturing. The Center gives the Heart of a Father Award to five deserving men. This takes place at the annual Faces of Fatherhood luncheon.

MHS Partners with Arts for Learning in Special Sponsorship

MHS is working with Arts for Learning on a special project. It is one that will bring arts in education opportunities to students in Vigo County.

MHS is giving Arts for Learning a sponsorship of $5,000. This money will be used to work with schools in Vigo County. It will help give those students the chance to learn more about the arts.

Reminder: Get Your Flu Shot!

Flu season is picking up steam! According to CNN, more than half of states are reporting widespread flu activity. Health officials also say cases are more severe this year.

There have been more than 2,000 hospitalizations associated with the flu virus. Among children, there have been multiple deaths reported nationwide during this season. Flu deaths have already been reported in Indiana.
