According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a mammogram can find cancer at an early stage when it is smaller and easier to treat. Talk to your doctor about when to start getting mammograms. It is also important to have a clinical breast exam.

MHS Request to Providers: Advise Smokers To Quit

Providers are encouraged to discuss tobacco cessation with all patients, advising and imploring smokers to quit. Effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2011, MHS covers tobacco cessation counseling when billed with CPT code 99407 and the modifier “U6 – Smoking and tobacco use cessation counseling visit; intensive, greater than 10 minutes; per 15 minutes”. Providers must bill the modifier U6 to denote “per 15 minutes”.

Providers are encouraged to discuss tobacco cessation with all patients, advising and imploring smokers to quit. Effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2011, MHS covers tobacco cessation counseling when billed with CPT code 99407 and the modifier “U6 – Smoking and tobacco use cessation counseling visit; intensive, greater than 10 minutes; per 15 minutes”. Providers must bill the modifier U6 to denote “per 15 minutes”.
Even brief counseling is effective in facilitating a patient’s attempts to quit using tobacco. If you choose to counsel patients in your office, effective for dates of service on or after November 1, 2011, MHS covers tobacco cessation counseling with CPT code 99407 and the modifier, “U6”. One unit of 99407 U6 is 15 minutes of service and is reimbursed at $22.08 per unit.
