Stay healthy with preventive care: MHS members who visit their doctor for their annual wellness exam will earn rewards on their CentAccount card. Then you can use those rewards to pay towards your utility bills now through March 31, 2014.

MHS Fan Club Keeps Members Cool in the Summer

MHS is offering the MHS Fan Club to help keep members cool! The MHS Fan Club will help those members who struggle with breathing issues, especially in the summer heat.

The intense summer heat can cause health issues, including heat-related illnesses. These could be severe cramps of the muscles in the arms, legs and stomach. It could also mean the emergency of heat stroke.

Update on Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Childless Adult Waitlist

On August 1, the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) began sending letters to 8,000 Hoosiers on the childless adult waitlist. The letter asks applicants to reapply to the Healthy Indiana Plan. After eligibility is confirmed, he or she will be accepted to the Healthy Indiana Plan. The letters will be released first to those who have been on the waitlist the longest.

MHS Launches Children with Special Needs Unit

MHS recently launched its Children with Special Needs Unit, developed to improve members’ access to services and integration of care and to support their family’s planning for complex challenges.

MHS’s Children with Special Needs Unit brings experienced professionals with varied backgrounds together as a team to address the complex needs of individual members. The program provides case management to families with children who have difficult medical problems and will benefit from team care – including children with autism, developmental disabilities, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, immune deficiencies and other chronic illnesses.
