Calling all Creative Kids! Join MHS at the Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day for the Rookie Run
MHS is taking part in the excitement surrounding the Indianapolis 500 as a sponsor of one of its popular pre-race festivities, the Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day. It takes place on Saturday May 12th, from noon to 4 p.m. on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis. Kids’ Day is the State’s largest FREE festival for kids. You don’t want to miss the exciting activities and entertainment!
MHS is a sponsor of the Rookie Run which takes place during Kids’ Day from 1-3 p.m. at the corner of Ohio and Meridian Streets. All kids ages 3-12 are invited to participate in the Rookie Run, a non-competitive fun run encouraging kids to stay physically fit. MHS will be onsite with giveaways and health information on how kids can stay active and healthy.
The Rookie Run complements the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. All participants in the Rookie Run will receive a goodie bag, a runner’s bib with the number one and a finisher’s medal — just like the Mini-Marathon participants. Onsite registration for the Rookie Run, located in front of the Chase Tower on Ohio Street, begins at 11 a.m. and is $10 on the day of the race.
MHS members will have the opportunity to win registrations to participate in the Rookie Run through a poetry and drawing contest. MHS members ages 3 -12 are invited to write a poem or draw a picture showing how they stay active and healthy. The top winners will receive a free registration to participate in the Rookie Run.
Contest Guidelines
Use your creativity, and write a poem or draw a picture that shows us how you personally stay healthy every day. Whether it’s eating foods that are good for you, exercising or playing outside — MHS wants to know how you stay healthy!
- You must be an MHS member from ages 3 to 12.
- Your entry must be your own original, unpublished work.
- You may only submit one entry.
- Your picture should be drawn on letter size paper (8.5X11).
- Your poem should be no longer than 20 lines in length.
How to Enter
The Contest will start April 2, 2012 and will go until April 27, 2012. Please submit your picture or poem via email to Communications@mhsindiana.com or mail it to 1099 N. Meridian St., Suite 400 Indianapolis, IN 46204, Attention: Marketing Department.
Prizes
The top 10 winners will receive a FREE registration to be in the Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day and Rookie Run on May 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. Five winners will be selected from each age group (ages 3 to 7 and 8 to 12). The winners will be selected based on effort and creativity. Everyone who enters the contest will receive a backpack filled with cool supplies that will help you stay active and healthy! Winners will be notified by April 30, 2012.
