Indianapolis’ Mayor Ballard Guest Speaker at Project Home Indy Grand Opening Event
Indianapolis Mayor Gregory Ballard will be the special guest speaker at the grand opening of Project Home Indy on Thursday, July 28. Project Home Indy is supported by its community partner, MHS.
In the summer of 2010, renovation began on a historic home that will now serve pregnant and parenting homeless teens. Project Home Indy will have a grand opening and ribbon cutting at this residence, located at 32 E. 32nd Street, on Thursday, July 28, starting at 10 a.m.
Project Home Indy is an organization which provides programs and services to homeless teen girls who are pregnant or parenting, supporting a teen mother’s need for a safe and healthy environment to encourage individual and family success.
“Our program aims to break the cycle of poverty, teaching these young mothers how to be successful heads of their young families. We are so grateful for all the community support we have received and for this special donation from MHS,” said Project Home Indy Board President Christina Koennecke.
The grand opening event will include remarks from the Project Home Indy board president, a special grand opening donation from MHS and a guest appearance and speech by Mayor Greg Ballard, who will then cut the ribbon. Refreshments will be served, and tours of the Project Home Indy residence will be offered.
